Hi, I’m Cintia, a Hungarian-Vietnamese illustrator based in Liverpool. I’m a mentee in the 2023-24 Pathways Into Children's Publishing program by the Pop Up Project, which aims to bring more diversity into children’s books. I’ve worked on literature briefs from publishers like Bloomsbury, Penguin Random House, and Nosy Crow through this program.
While I specialise in children's illustration, my style extends to diverse projects beyond books. Whether for museum walls, educational materials, packaging, editorial work, or any other fun project, I'd love to hear from you.
I like to infuse a hand-drawn, rough touch into my work even when using digital tools, enjoying the creation of textures to give my drawings an authentic feel and playing with colours. My favourite themes are nature and animals, whether from mythology, folktales, or real life. I also enjoy illustrating historical and non-fiction narratives, where I delve into research and use my findings to create playful interpretations.
I’d love to work on topics such as shyness, self-doubt, isolation, courage and fear, using compositions, colours and abstract elements to bring out the sensitivity of these subjects, which everyone can relate to at some point in their lives.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog Nacho, visiting exhibitions, and spending time in nature. Recently, I've started experimenting with printmaking, which I really enjoy. I also volunteer at a care home, where I help run art classes.
Please feel free to reach out if you have a project idea, would like to commission some work, or are interested in collaborating.
I’m also looking for representation from an agency.
